'Who lifteth up, the spirit,
Say, who is he?
'Who gave in the beginning
This life to me.

'Who hoodeth, like a falcon's,
A while mine eyes,
But presently shall loose me
To hunt my prize.'




Ghôyam ke kist rôh-áfzâ marâ,
An-kas ke bedâd jân ze Âghâz marâ.

Ghah cheshm-e marâ chô bâz bar-mibandad,
Ghah bûghshâyad be-seyd chôn bâz marâ.




Vocabulary

Ghôyam = I say
Ke = That, which
Kist = Who is?
Rôh-áfzâ = Exhilarating
Marâ = Me
Ân-kas = The one,
Bedâd = Gave
Jân = Soul
Ze = From, it is an abridged form of "Áz"
Âghâz = Outset, beginning, from the first day,
Ghah = Sometimes, is an abridged form of "Ghahi"
Cheshm = Eye
Chô = Like,
Bâz = Falcon
Bar-mibandad = To Close
Bûghshâyad = Loosen
