Ruba'ie #171


Tonight my way I wend
About the mansion of the Friend;
Yea, until dawn shall glow
Within His house I winding go.

For so it was decreed,
To satisfy His utmost need,
My head should be a cup
Wherewith the Friend may feely sup.



Èmshab man-ám -ô- tâvâf-e kâshâneh-ye dôst,
Mighardam tâ be sûbh dar khâneh-ye dôst.

Zirâ ke be har sabôh môsôm shûd-ást,
K-in kâseh-ye sar bûd-ást peymâneh-ye dôst.



Vocabulary


Èmshab = Tonight
Man-ám = I am
Ô = also can be written "va" means and.
Tâvâf =Circumambulation, wending
Kâshâneh = Place, house
Dôst = Friend, here "Beloved"
Mighard-ám = I turn, I move
