Ruba'ie #130


When Thee around
I circling go,
The cup is crowned
And wine doth flow.

When Thou art kind,
Amazed stand I
Like Moses, blind
On Sinai.





Ân-dam ke marâ be gherd-e tô dôran ást,
Sâqi -ô- sharâb -ô- qadah -ô- dôr ân ást.

Vân-dam ke tô-râ tajjali-e èhsân ást,
Jân dar heyrat chô Môsi-e Umrân ást.




Vocabulary

Ân-dam = When, the moment
Ke = That, which
Marâ = Me
Be gherd = Around
Tô = You
Dôrân = Turning, going round, circulating
Ást = Is
Sâqi = Cupbearer
Ô = also can be written "va" means and.
Sharâb = Wine
Qadah = Cup
Dôr = Epoch, age
Vân = the abrivated form of "Va Ân" means "and that".
Tajjali = Epiphany, manifestation
Èhsân =Generosity, benevolence
Jân = Soul
Dar = In, at
Heyrat = Amazement
Chô = Like
