Goodmorning

Ruba'ie #60


SAVE sweet scent thou bearest
To this street come newer,
And while robe thou wearest
Draw not nigh this river.

Every pathway riding
Hither runs from thither;
There be tine abiding,
Come thou never hither.



Ghar bôûy nemîbarî, dar în kôûy mayâ,
Var jâmeh nemîkanî, dar în jôûy mayâ.

Ân-sôûy ke sôûy-hâ az Ân sôûy Âyad,
Mîbâsh hamân sôûy-ô be-dîn sôûy mayâ.

 

Vocabulary

Ghar = If
bôûy = Smell, odour
nemîbarî = Don't get, don't smell
dar în = to this
kôûy = Street
mayâ = Don't come
Var = And if
jâmeh = Clothing, garment
nemîkanî = Don't take off
jôûy = River
Ân-sôûy = That way,
ke = That
sôûy-hâ = Ways, directions, " hâ " is a plural sign in Persian grammar.
az = From
Âyad = Comes
Mîbâsh = Be
hamân = Same, that very
